Is the portfolio management game that helps organisation develop Portfolio Management in daily practice.
The action
For the Dutch coast a new Airport is realized. This Airport is realized by five Flight Lines because of the overcapacity on the current Schiphol. These five airlines are: KLM, Martinair, Easyjet, British Airways and Singapore Airlines. The whole portfolio of projects must be realised!
The game learns participants how to use Portfolio Management. The Setup, controlling and management of the Portfolio is trained. Topics as Strategies, Benefits management and decision taking are incorporated.
This is not an easy task. The whole airport must be realized. There is pressure from the investment and the current Schiphol is giving negative publicity over the project. Also there is a crises in the Dutch Government and the current Cabinet is deemed to fall. Also the investment must be earned back in the given ROI timelines.
The participants are coached by experienced trainers learning how to develop a Portfolio, how to control it and how to effective measure Benefits. The participants receive feed-back during the game about roles, task and their responsibilities. There is a focus on learning effective decision taking.

Airport Challenge is developed for Executives and Managers to improve their management and decision taking skills in relation to Portfolio Management.
Most of the Organisations are developing Portfolio Management over their Projects and Programmes. In the current Economic environment it is vital to make the right decisions for investments. A lot of organisations are struggling with the concept of Portfolio Management and don’t have a clear Vision and Strategy about it. The management of the Portfolio is also still not effectively developed in most of the organization.
A basic knowledge of MSD® Portfolio Management is recommended to play the game.
